Pulled the trigger again...

Well.... Thing is, I measures the neck on my carvin v220 and compared that to the w standard thin. It's only thicker than w by .02 mm and I know the carvin has ss6100. The carvin is my favorite neck of all time. The best feeling of anything I've ever held, so I'm pretty excited about this. I also have a Jackson w neck on order that should be here next week or the week after. Specs are the same except it has a 16" radius.
In my opinion 6100 isn't THAT big, They are big though.... I have them on my carvin V220 and I'm absolutely in love with them. The frets Ibanez uses are bigger though, depending on the model in question... I'll take some pics, comparing the two for you though. :toothy12:
Okay sooooo..... I know I'm a horrible photographer but bear with me. There are three guitar here, one with strings is the V220 (SS6100) Ibanez RG (not sure the fret size, slightly larger than 6100) and for comparison purposes Warmoth strat (maple neck, 6150)

If you like Ibanez's frets you'll love 6100's
I was worried that they'd be too big for my strat (pictured above) and I learned the hard way, by ordering 6150's. I love that scalloped feel and in the near future I'm definitely going to be getting a W full scalloped neck.

The frets on that Carvin V220 look most like the SS or gold 6100s I have on the Warmoth necks I have here. Those Ibanez frets look shorter and wider, but while shorter is certainly common enough I'm not aware of a fret wider than 6100s (.112"). Could be a lighting thing, or perhaps the less-polished faces.

And see I knew someone was going to say that... And while it may be hard to see in these pics, I assure you they are a good bit larger than 6100, I have an S series here as well who's frets are pretty ridiculously huge, maybe even bigger than those RG frets.
Maybe Ibanez makes their own fretwire?
