Okay, so I'm in the process of this really cool build. It's a soloist type body with a 3 on 3 headstock. It looks just like the tele in the flamed tele thread. So anyway I was at the paint store and found some DA paper in fine grits. I bought some 600, 1200, and 2000. I was really excited. I come home and hit it with the 600 and sand through about 2 inches by about a quarter of an inch. I tried to fix it but there was no hope. It was comming out so nice too. I was really bummed. So I pretty much stripped it and now I get to start over. That messed up my day. Then the mail man arrives. Oh boy, things are looking up. It's my new extra cool project! Yeah! I had to deal with some plumbing emergencies but I didn't care. I knew what I had downstairs. Alright finally some down time. I decide to do a mock-up. Dammit my pickups don't fit. The mounting feet/tabs or whatever are too wide. I think if I round them off they should be ok. My new Tone Pros Kluson locking tuners do not fit. So I decide to mount the bridge. It's a PRS tremolo. I start screwing the first bridge screw and when it gets to the shank portion of the screw the head snaps off. Each screw has a bevel in it alot like a miniature 2 point stud kind of thing. Well that makes the screw very weak under the head. I toss the bridge on there anyway to see how it looks. The holes were supposed to be drilled for a 2 1/16 spacing but it was drilled for 2 1/8. So now my tuners and my Santana pickups and tremolo do not fit this body and neck. I pretty much liquidated what I could to fund this and now I'm screwed ( no pun intended ). Sorry just had to rant, even if it sounds more like whining.
