Pre-treat Neck

I got a Warmoth neck and it says that it was pre-treated with "sealer".  Does this mean that I don't have to apply conditioner to the end grain to prevent overstaining,  before I apply the lacquer?

Also, does the skunk stripe require a pre-coating of lacquer because the stripe absorbs the finish at a different rate than the maple?

Thanks!

Dont worry about the end grain on a neck, there's not much you can do anyway, and any "darkening" will be nice subtle shading.

Yes, if you have a skunk stripe, you want to grain fill it, sand smooth then finish, for best results.
