That thing poking through your ceiling tiles is still one of the funniest things I've seen on this forum.

I've actually designed and made a little PAR lamp attachment thingy that attaches to the back of the pole. From that, any number of accessories can be hung from it (but I play to hang some lamps from it).
Regarding it poking through the ceiling: Such is the price we pay. Would be a PITA with a low ceiling club - but haven't played one like that yet. I'm thinking of getting a set of the poles only (no base) cheap on eBay and cutting them down - but I'll only do that if I end up playing a low ceiling joint on a regular basis.
