I had this same problem and I'm just going to go for it with the pots I chose (and they're even pricier than Rothstein's modified pots), if they don't fit then maybe I'll remove some material so they will, or get the long-shafted pots. Usually the higher-quality pots have longer threaded bushings, or so said a couple of people with whom I spoke...
