was wondering if poly is good to use after refinishing my neck went to home depot and this was suggested on refinishes. I was told it cures alot better then most lacquer finishes but i wanted to make sure before i used it lol

Poly products are probably the easiest high durability finishes available to the DIYer.  Wipe on products being easist, but typically requiring a few more coats than brush on or spray on (because they go on thinner in the first place.)

The only real downside to poly is that once applied they are hardest to repair should they get damaged (durability and ease of repair are pretty much inversely related)

I used a wipe-on poly on my LPS build almost six months ago, and it still looks and feels great. What I like about the wipe on is that you get a lot of control over the thickness of the finish, since the coats are thinner, which lets you really get the finish you're looking for.

sounds good im trying to stain this neck but its not taking the stain and im tired of re sanding it lol so im just keeping it a natural finish. getting it smooth then hitting it up with poly

Hard maple resists staining - especially if you are using a pigment stain (the kind that settle and need to be stirred.)  A layer or two of amber shellac will give the wood a nice yellow tint and is safe to use under a poly top coat.

Man dmraco, that really turned out nice.
Great top on that one!
