...And of course I don't, but I couldn't resist the title...quilt maple on swamp ash...scarab burned in...dye to come...

I never cease to be amazed at what you can do with a woodburner. 99.9% of the population couldn't do that with a pencil. You must have the patience of a saint and the precision control of a surgical robot.

Thank you for the kind feedback; not only is it most gratifying, it keeps me on my toes and trying to maintain as high a level of creativity and execution as I can...

Burning is completed, and with the way the weather is going, it looks like a good day to dye!! :icon_biggrin:

Yes, it is a good day to dye!

Pretty cool, but all that snow would drive me mad...Unless I guess I had many guitar bodies to carve on... :laughing7:

Good lord, Ape....you do some of the coolest stuff! This is my favorite so far.

By the way, I ran across one of your unmistakable pieces on eBay. I don't know how long you've had it on there, but I have had terrible luck selling guitars lately (to support my current build).....don't know if it's the economy, the time of year, or what.....but I can barely recover 30% on one of my better acoustic-electrics (22 y.o. collectible even). I've been pondering selling my '46 Gibson J-45 (inherited from my great Uncle) but there's no way I would put it up in the current marketplace. Good luck with yours!

Ummmm...I haven't put ANYTHING on eBay--not unless I did it in some narcoleptic spasm...can't imagine what you saw, but maybe my pieces ain't quite as ''unmistakable'' as you are giving me credit for!! Could you send me a link to that page/piece?

Color about done--on to finishing...

How 'bout that color?!? I call it 'Tiger Colon'  :icon_biggrin:

Kuro--these Prismacolor dye pens are rather cool, by golly!

Don't you just love the control they give you put dye exactly where you want? And they blend into one another!

I have to say this one is definitely my new favorite of yours. With the detail in your colors along side the amazing woodburning skills, I have a feeling this is first of many Great Ape creations that will wow us even more so than your previous impressive work.

Truly Kick @ss work!

Looking great Greg :icon_thumright: .................................................... again  :icon_biggrin:

What are the other spec's :ie  Neck and puppies.

:dontknow:  Maybe you are mistaking Great Ape's classy wood burning skills for wood carving.
