So I've got some items up on ebay that I'm selling off to fund my first Warmoth. Its looking good. A few of them will go, a few I'll relist, and I have a few more things to put up, but I'm gonna hit the target I need.
I've already got the pickups to build the guitar around (backwards eh?). A set of Reed James Custom Woodbuckers in Cocobolo that I've reviewed elswhere in this forum.
I've decided on an arch top LPS definitely. There don't appear to be too many out there and I've always liked the look of them. With either a chambered mahogony back and padouk top from the "Unique Choice", with a Rosewood neck and Brazillian fingerboard or a Black Korina with a Black Korina "Unique Choice" chambered with a Wenge Neck with a Kingwood fingerboard.
Either way, the neck will be 25.5" scale, 10"-16" compound, Fat contour, 1 3/4" nut width, jumbo stainless steel frets, and corian nut. As fat and wide as possable without going superwide, my understanding has always been that more mass sounds bigger, and the neck has a great deal of impact on the sound.
Now, aside from the fun of the neck & body selection, I know I'm gonna need a toggle, pots, cap for the tone knob, screws, tuners, neckplate, and straplocks. I have my eyes on a hipshot baby grand for the bridge.
Am I forgetting anything? Thoughts on my plans so far?
