The wood is black korina, and it is perty. I didn't do the middle pup routing at all, I had a local guy do it. Didn't wanna risk anything on my first project. And I get no 'quack' from my middle pup + split bucker combos because I didn't wire them out of phase. I have been meaning to switch that up, just haven't gotten around to it yet....
