what size pilot hols should I drill for a football input jack and cover plate on the back of the guitar?

Depends on the size of your screws.
(Obviously) you need to drill slightly smaller diameter than the screw thread.

Also depends on how hard the wood is...
For harder woods, the hole needs to be bigger.

if I knew the size of the screws I wouldn't need to ask that question.

so I guess my question is...what are the screw sizes Warmoth includes with their Oval Jack Plate, Control Cavaty and Humbucker PU rings?

I guess most guys just have a set of bits and they choose the appropriate one when they need it. When I did my LP I took some screws with me to the store and bought some bits.

I have a full set of bits.  Just wondering which ones to use.

It's a Mahogany body with a maple cap if that helps.

I'm not really sure what size holes I drilled on my korina strat, that's been a while.
