Pignose amp Help

I just acquired a pig nose 20 amp.  It needed a new input jack which was easy enough to fix.  My question is since the batteries are complete toast, is there a way to remove them and just run an on the 12 volt?  I figure I will take out 50% of the weight of the amp if I remove them.  I also would rather not have dead barry cells laying around.

This is what the back looks like.  I assume if I take them out I just need to complete the circuit.  what do I do with the hot and ground wires going to the batteries

didn't look at the thread, but you should be able to just run it off of 12VDC.  Regarding the batteries, they are probably built up of several AA NiCad batteries.  Can be fixed if you are patient and handy
