Also a huge thanks for all the input, tips and help during my build. So stoked and all you all were a tremendous help! This form and the members rock! Some literally  :laughing3:

I'm bummed - I just moved away from San Jose.  I would gladly have driven over the hill to Santa Cruz to meet you in person and ogle your fine axe.  Congrats on a sweet guitar, man.  May it bring you years of happy pickin' and grinnin'.

That would have been sick! I was born in San Jo but spent a number of years up in a town called Bend Oregon. Now I can't handle the city for to long. Gotta be by the ocean or mountains. Hope you like the move and it is a beautiful spot!!

Beautiful Strat! Love the Surf Green. You're obviously a big fan of Canary wood. What do you like about it in comparison to laquered necks. I had a Wenge/Ebony a while back, but found the unfinished Wenge almost too slippery.

Thanks  :) Honestly this was is my first electric guitar and I choose canary mostly because I thought it would look best. I was hoping that I would just get lucky with the wood and pickup combinations and it would sound good and to my ear it does, pretty important since I usually just play to unwind for myself  :toothy10:. Before this I had only played acoustic and of course all my acoustics have finished necks.  Sometimes I find them feeling sticky at times and after having this raw neck which I burnished with sandpaper it is supper slick. I am finding I like it... although really I guess it just comes down to preference. If you liked the wood and tone but not the unfinished aspect you could always add a finish.
