Nice B&Ws. The boat shot is really cool and the pillar / stone work is giving me ideas.
There's a great Carnegie Museum and Library building in Oakland, (Pittsburgh PA) just a few miles from here.
The old car in the field is really nice.

Cool thread!  I really like the black and white ones, especially the boat.

I recently got a digital SLR, and have been taking some nature shots.  I think my husband might have taken the elk one, but I am not sure... we went camping and spent the whole time passing the camera back and forth.

Hannaugh, those are wonderful. I'm liking black & white a lot myself lately. Here are a few more b&W conversions from the original color:

@mrpinter... Your black and white pics are amazing  :icon_thumright:

Here is one, Warmoth related, that I think look a bit like a planet in space. I call it planet lacewood

Thank you for the very kind words, MortenB. Your picture is a nice effect. And it reminds me, I've forgotten about guitar pictures so far in this thread. Here are a few misc. closeups of some of my guitars and other music gear:

Yeah it's a great effect - very close to a real leslie. I just wish it wasn't as big and didn't need it's own power supply.

Yeah, I've heard changing the tubes if one breaks is horrible too.  But it definitely sounds cool.

How about vintage watches? These are from a couple of major collections, which I was commissioned to photograph for a book. I added the backgrounds later:

Some very cool watch pics you have there mrpinter!
I am really diggin' that Gruen Precision with the black band; picture 9.
You don't happen to have the name of that model documented do you?
:kewlpics: :rock-on:

Thank you BD. That is a nice old Gruen. I don't think Gruens had names like Hamilton or Elgin. I don't know anything about that one except that I'd guess it was manufactured in the 1930s. The background in that composition is my room at the Hotel Sacher in Vienna - from when I was there over 15 years ago.

Patek makes some nice high end watches, makes Rolex look like Seiko's as far are $$$$$..

Oh, you mean like this one...
In this price range, I would at least expect the watch to be water resistant.  Nope, must be an upcharge  :dontknow:
