We all probably have at least one item that is so good at its intended purpose that it's almost impossible to think of how it might be improved. Do you have something like that? Could you post it? A brief description please, and bonus points for photos.
I have a couple of things that come to mind. First: my Quarterwave bookshelf stereo by Wathen Audiophile. I think it is absolute perfection in an all-in-one speaker system. It is compact and a relatively simple but sophisticated design, with folded ports expanding the output of the speakers and a bottom firing subwoofer. Its laminated construction makes it super rigid, which I think adds to the crispness of the sound. It has no tone controls, but to my ears doesn't need them. The sound is amazing for its size: lush and clear and room filling, with tons of volume. I'm using it in Bluetooth mode along with my iPad.

Next is my Gitzo camera tripod. It's made of carbon fiber and magnesium, which makes it very light and very strong. It was pricey, but I was a pro photographer when I bought it, and it's turned out to be a great investment. It's rock solid and the movements are intuitive and simple. Instead of a center column, the head is mounted on a boom arm that swivels in any direction - including a position with the lens pointed straight down, or at practically ground level with the arm inverted. I've gotten shots with it that would have been impossible with other tripods.
