On this neck:

I can see pale spots on the headstock and the back of the neck. What are they? How much do they show up? Anyone got any better pictures?

That's the heartbreak of psoriasis. It only happens on necks with Telecaster headstocks. It's easily avoided. Simply specify Strat or Warhead headstocks if you prefer 6 in-line tuners. Pointy in-line headstocks don't count; they've been shown to cause cancer in laboratory animals. Of course, Warmoth won't admit to any of this. If you ask them and tell them where you heard these distressing facts, they'll simply say I'm fulla shit.

Given the thick profile and wenge wood, it's probably something icky from killing zombies. One must've taken a big bite out of the headstock, there's not too much left.

Here are the pics. If someone buys it the link to the neck page won't work anymore.

Searching around, it seems to be "mineral deposits" in the wood. Ugh. I'd be wary about even ordering Wenge if that's something you risk.
