So I discovered these old shooting patches (and a couple of belt buckles too!) when cleaning out my parents house last week.

One of them caught my eye:

I guess those guys up in the Pacific North West can be a real, you know, PITA  :)

My brother ran the gun club at work for 20 years. The kids grew up in the bunkers running the trap machines and keeping clays stacked at the ready. It's a good family sport, fun and safe.

A bit loud though.  Not like playing electric guitar in a band with a drummer...  :icon_jokercolor:

I never did much trap shooting. it's a great sport, though. Cool to find those patches.

I did do a heck of a lot of Cowboy Action shooting, though. Great fun, there, too.

Years ago I shot so much trap/skeet/sporting clays that I had to get into reloading to keep ammo costs down. Lotta fun, except once I knocked over a bag of #8 shot and put about 10 pounds of little lead balls all over the basement floor. Must've been about eleventy-bajillion of them. I'll bet the current homeowner is still finding them in nooks and crannies down there  :laughing7:

I never got into trap, but I do love to burn some powder on the sillouette targets at the pistol range, and I do love to take my '98 Mauser in 8mm & my Remington 700 in 30.06 to the long range.

My dad used to load his own shells as well!  Had three different machines for various shell gauges.  But of particular interest to us kids were the kegs (yes KEGS!) of gunpowder lying around.

Skeet / Trap might be a safe family sport, but kids can get into a whole lot of trouble with a few kegs of gunpowder  :headbang:.  I'm just happy I have all my fingers
