Are there any cons to simply getting a 1/2" output jack hole on the LP body and using the deep sleeve jack? Does the deep sleeve jack have any way of securing itself in the body? Or could it slip in and out? Seems like the easiest way to go but maybe I'm missing something.

I've never used one, but if you look at the picture it obviously has a lip that is larger than the 1/2 shaft that will keep it from slipping in/out after you tighten down the backside screw/washer.
