That's a really nice top, but

Having the route corrected?
looks like someone was drilling from the control cavity for some reason.

I suppose this isn't too bad. The guitar is in otherwise excellent shape, with no crazy paint jobs or router damage. A simple sticker would cover that up, if you don't mind having a sticker in the lower horn cutaway area.

If you were really creative, you could put some sort of special LED bezel in there that shines down the neck. Then it would look intentional. :blob7:

Actually, on that note, here is a thought.
How about drilling out the upper horn area to look identical, then filling both holes with a material similar to diffused lens LEDs, and then lighting the holes with blue LEDs, triggered to flash at certain rates or something? That could be very cool if done well.

Perhaps it was. You'll notice there's no minimum bid.

Kinda funny, in a way. Some people put up these absolute wrecks for a jillion bucks, and this is nearly perfect outside of that blemish and he's letting nature take its course.

That sound the wood made when damaging the top should have been the sound of them buying it.

Yeah I really hope they weren't just like "Uhhh sorry we wrecked it, you owe us 65 bucks for the hour of labor"

That would suck soooo much. I mean you trust your luthier cause you can't do it yourself right? Man.

What the hell does "I had  the neck pickup route corrected" mean? Was there something wrong with Warmoth's work?

i'm trying to understand that myself. It kinda looks like they were trying to drill a new or different hole from the the control cavity to the pickup route and missed. that's the only thing i can guess, because the neck pickup route doesn't look unusual

If they were trying to drill a new access hole for wiring they sure were terrible at it.  They missed by a mile  :icon_scratch:

i would think a pickguard would cover 50% of that....

I tend to agree; some wood fill and touch up with same tone color + pickguard would probably do the trick, you wouldn't even notice it unless you are looking for it..

Ouch is right  can see from the cavity shot where they have drilled though from ...... BUT WHY  :icon_scratch:

I reckon he was having a hard time trying to get the wires though from the neck pickup into the cavity (notice the screw holes are done for pickup)
Then thought  :sign13:  I know I'll drill that hole bigger  .......  opppppppppppsie

Neck pickup cavity has a larger than normal hole for wires.
Noticed as well there is NO drill hole from the neck (down into cavity) which most warmoth come with.
I remember someone getting a body not long ago, that didn't have the drilled hole from the neck.
:icon_scratch: Wonder if this is it !!

You could probably just fill the thing and dye it black/blue to match.  With all the waves of dark and light from the quilting, it'd be noticeable, but probably not to bad.  The quilt is basically like camoflage anyway.
