It just keeps getting more fun with each new build. Just got this on the way (along with a black Wilkinson bridge):

next up I'll order the neck and the rest of the hardware, and when I'm done it should look something like this:

For pickups I plan to use a Duncan Custom Custom in the bridge, and a Duncan Alnico Pro II neck. Hopefully the neck pictured in my composite image will still be there in the Showcase when I get around to ordering.

Nice. Not only good for your back, but I'm sure it will have a good effect on the tone as well.
Looking forward to this build.

Every time I see a Velocity build it grows on me a little more. That's going to be real nice, looking forward to seeing the progress!

Yay! I was able to add more money into my "Guitar Fund" and got that Screaming Deal neck pictured on my composite above before someone else did. Next: hardware.

Being a strapaholic, I already ordered a strap for this guitar. I found a really cool new source of nice guitar straps: Original Fuzz, in Nashville. They have an Indian collection, and a Peruvian collection besides other more ordinary stuff. I got one of the Peruvian ones (pictured on my comp below). They're a little pricey, but they're hand made on backstrap looms by artisans in Peru, and look super comfy besides looking really cool. Also, they got it shipped out the same morning I ordered it, and I even got a nice follow up email from the founder of the company. Just thought I'd give them a plug.

I just got my computer running on a new OS and found this. Congrats. I've often admired that body.

Linux Mint Cinnamon 17.3 64-bit. I like it a lot. It installs with software that basically does the same as MS Office and Photoshop already on it as well as Firefox Web Browser and Thunderbird Mail. Not to mention the stuff that's available for it. It was a good step forward. On my machine, it's about 4 times faster than Windows, too.

Good choice. I just put that on my main machine about 2 weeks ago. Love it. Been a Mint fan since day one.
