Oooh I wanna hamburger!

I've gone all-natural (local, humanely raised, grassfed) carnivore (well, I did probably double my meat and fish consumption) and I've lost 30 lb of fat, my joints feel better, I'm getting way stronger. I'm sold on eating quality meats for health, man, that is clearly what we are designed for. My sister is a veggo and has many multiple vitamin and protein deficiency issues.
 
If you really want great tasting meat, go to a Kosher butcher in a jewish district.  The taste is undeniably better then even most regular butchers.  Be warned though, the price is nearly double, but if you can afford it, it is worth every mouth watering bite. That goes for chicken as well.

thats the thing with vegeterians/vegans. many of them don't know what to eat, just what NOT to eat.

well I would love to see that -- but nah, chickens are filthy animals - I could never be sure that it washed it's wings or whatever it uses to make the sandwich. :laughing8:

I would sort-of like to go veggie, or at least partially, not for the morals* but just because of all the horrible steps the industry has progressively been taking to squeeze pennies out of every aspect of the production of meat products - it did NOT used to be this way. Every few months they come up with something even more disgusting and dangerous-sounding. They've got cows & chickens so goosed up on medications and growth hormones it's bizarre, and of course you're eating all that stuff.... anti-inflammatories, steroids, one of the largest factors in the booming popularity of antibiotic-resistant diseases is all the antibiotics we eat involuntarily though the mouths of others.  I stopped eating big ocean fish after seeing all the tumors that were showing up in the ones I portioned out while cooking in restaurants into the 1990's, and it's gotten way worse - the big tunas and swordfishies and lobsters at the top of the food chain are accumulators for all the crap we've pumped into the oceans, especially the last century or so.

It's a mixed bag - of course I/we wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for the massive applications of pesticides that helped American farmers recover from the Dust Bowl years, bugs used to eat a LOT of the food. Washing your fruit & vegetables is kind of weird, because the pesticides are all through the soil and water that the fruits & vegetables suck up and grow on. But we seem to be heading for a systemic crash, mostly due to trying to feed seven billion people on a planet that can maybe support two billion. Mother Nature does have a way of evening things up, and we can expect major blowback as long as we persist on acting like morbid parasites. There does seem to be some kind of stigma (?) attached to deciding which bunches of poor foreigners we need to sterilize so that we can continue to live like pigs? Golly. People are like so-oo sensitive.... :toothy11:
