Hey guys,

today my second custom Warmoth neck arrived. My first neck was a similar roasted flame maple neck, but i sold it because the standard thin profile wasn't fitting me.

This neck is far superior to the first one. It is so smooth, its lighter, the grain is absolutely astonishing and its got a nicer color for my taste.

Here are the specs:

Style: Stratocaster®
Construction: Vintage/Modern Construction
Orientation: Right Handed
Neck Wood: Roasted Maple
Fingerboard Wood: Roasted Maple
Nut Width: 1-5/8"
Back Shape: Clapton
Fret Size: SS6115 (Stainless)
Tuner Ream: Schaller (25/64")
Radius: Straight 9.5"
Scale: 25-1/2"
Fret #: 22
Mounting Holes: Standard 4 Bolt
Pre-Cut Installed String Nut: GraphTech White TUSQ XL - Standard Nut
Inlays: White Pearloid Star
Side Dots: White Side Dots
Finish: No Finish

I will pair this neck with a custom MJT Strat body, hardware will be a NFT Floyd Rose, 2 Zexcoil Singles and Thornbucker+ in the bridge. Tuners will be Schaller Locking.

I ask myself if made  mistake with the nut width and the nut choice itself, maybe i should have gone for a wider nut width to get a lsr roller nut. but we will see. I have a very good luthier and i am confident this will turn out to be good.

sorry but my poor iphone SE pictures dont do the neck justice.

I am curious if this combo works out...we will see!

I will do a work in progress thread once all parts are here.

I love the way the star inlays look against the roasted maple fret board. Just a little subdued, unlike some other implementations I've seen, like Gibson's inlays on their SSTs with the ebony boards. I like yours much better.

As for the 1-5/8" nut, as opposed to a 1-11/16", it's only 1/16" difference, but you will feel the difference. But is the radius, back contour, and fret size are what you're used to, the difference shouldn't be unmanageable by any means.

Thank you BigSteve22 for your words!

Yeah the nut width is where I made a possible mistake, but then again my top top priority is playability, shorty followed by Tremolo / tuning stability.

Everything is fine If I will be able to use the Floyd to some extend. No ridiculous dive bombs, normal use.

We will see :)

And for the looks and feel, this neck is so good. Words can't describe.

I love the v neck, that's so so important. Don't want to play any other profile anymore.

I went with the standard angled pocket non recessed for Floyd rose. If I or my luthier can't make the NFT fit I will have to go with a standard Floyd rose. Looks kinda dumb maybe.

I couldn't change my order at mjt because at this time the. Ody was already being routed.

OK, looking forward to seeing this neck get used. It'll look great with the body you have chosen.

If the body is not recessed the NFT should fit the posts. If it is a top rout body you will find you will need adjustment for the pickguard may be needed as the NFT is wider than an OFR. Both, of course, are wider than standard Strat type trems.

Look forward to seeing your build.

Yeah,

It will be a top rout body. I already ordered a Pickguard with additional space for the NFT.

Cool, all should be good if the stars align and the gods aren't malign.
