Ok, re-ranch shoreline gold... how long to wait before clearcoat?

So, I refinished a strat body I had sitting around in shoreline gold from re-ranch.  I have the rattle-can clearcoat too, but I'm not sure if I need to let it sit for a few days, a few hours or what.  Re-ranch's site seems almost like it says to do it without much of a wait, but maybe I huffed too many metallic paint fumes.

Experts?  Halp!!!  It's rattle can paint mixed with nitro, and nitro clearcoat.

I have shot clear over that in a very short time less than an hour.  Just go light because if you get a run on gold you cannot sand it out you will have to sand it level and apply another coat of color.

Yeah, so, you know what I did?  I grabbed the wrong can and sprayed mary kaye white over my PERFECT shoreline gold.  I'm almost in tears here.  Hahahaha.  Fkn re-ranch cans saying "with clear nitro" at the bottom.

See, if you had a proper camera, I would suggest you pitch this idea to Gibson, to see if they would start releasing more pointless, ugly crap in "Mary Kaye white over Shoreline Gold." :blob7:

ooooo - now that is a mistake I would make.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is the reason why I leave finishing to those who know what the heck they are doing.

I've had to sand back and re-paint and/or clear because of a lack of patience/experience. But let me tell you, it will be worth it when you're done...

I've been fooling with sanding through for a sorta-relic finish, and working on making the clearcoat nice and smooth as glass.  I guess the finishing dieties wanted me to get some more practice.
