Ok, I'm never browsing the Warmoth Showcase again...

Despite having chosen black hardware for Quty Pie and found it pleasing to my eye, the broad expanse of a pickguard should not be black.  I think parchment is the right answer here for the purple body.  Plain white seems more on track for the blue one.

I've often wondered what a reverse Caribbean burst would look like. Deep blue in the middle and pale around the edges. Like a "blue hole" in the ocean. It would need to be bound I suppose. With a trans blue back or maybe a regular carribean burst on the back. Just idle thoughts. Those are two beauties in any case!

Cheers...............Todd

I like the way you're thinking. Sometimes a cool color or shape might be even better if changed to an opposite or reversed or something that's basically just in front of us, bur we usually don't see it.

A friend of mine, who's always liked Rickenbackers, told me that he thought it would be cool to have a guitar with the bodyshape like the shape of the headstock of a 4003:

Kiesel posted this on its facebook feed last week.  Pretty sure they just did a straight blue dye job and sanded it back on the edges, but it gets close to what you describe above.

First one arrived today...

Looking sweet!

Even has a 1-piece Mahogany back - which is a nice bonus.

Here's a couple of unprocessed real-life pics.

Sucks to be you, buddy.

If that's your planned pickguard, how's about gettin' fancy at the north end of the axe as well?

That's really a fine body. I like the pics you took. They really show it off. :icon_thumright:

Really nice color! Gonna look great with that pickguard. I agree with Bagman, I'm a big fan of getting tuner buttons to match the pickgaurd, kinka draws everything together.  :icon_jokercolor:

I need to never browsing the Warmoth Showcase again... too  :help: I just have move my workshop , find that I have 10 unfinished guitar body to packing up , 8 of them are Warmoth , and another one is coming on a shipment  I just too busy for work to finish all of them , some time some deals can't resist  :help:

Some stunning bodies there live the Caribbean burst. But I think if I ordered two finished bodies at the same time my wife would convince a jury that it was justifiable homicide. To be fair she is quite frugal too. I will limit myself to one build a year. I would love to see the finished guitar.

Wow. I don't know how you do that. I'm waaaay too impatient to let builds sit like that. But OTOH, it does give you something to look forward to.

Sometimes you see something you're not sure you'll ever see again and just have to have it even if you don't have a home for it yet.

Sometimes you forget you have stuff and fill a gap that's already been filled.

Sometimes you encounter deals you just can't pass up.

I just recently moved and found more than a few pieces like that stashed away.

Beats a life of crime, and hey there will be times when you catch up on stuff.
But the coolest part of having that luxury of excess stock is that you get to choose which body you want to work on given the circumstances of your life.

Think of it like a collage, and match the body that you choose to work on to the relevant event  :icon_thumright:

Actully a lot of them been put together for some way , test different body / neck / pu combination , pickup temp fix by tape on legs, only wire with temp  jumper and pu selecter , made it "playable " and may maintain that way for some months . Too busy on work.
My job and hobby are design and engineering new stuffs , so can't stop my curiosity . Unfortunately that mean my job is also endless possibilities vs limit deadline

like this one is only have vol , don't have tone knob yet , and mid pickup don't have right color yet , 80% finish ?
