So on a non funded mission. I have some Goldfoil pups (humbucker size) I need a guitar for. I prefer a Tele. Pricing a build, I’m over 1500 (over 500 just for a finished body), so I’m opting for a Fender Chris Sheflitt Tele.
Used they’re going for 650.

Only thing, the bridge is a flat mount Strat bridge in the 2 7/32 string spacing (and yes it’s rear loading. Not the biggest fan of 2 7/32 spacing.

As it’s a Strat hardtail bridge, threaded saddles are not an option. Curious how bad is the through string hole to use a 2 1/8 bridge string spacing on a body drilled through for a 2 7/32? Haven’t found a back loading flat mount Strat bridge

FYI. I do not have a drill press or a router. I do recall seeing years ago some sort of item (requires routing) is a wide solid plate to accommodate different spacings.

Trying to avoid filling holes, plugging, and redrilling for the string through

Amazon has strat style flatmount hardtail top loaders FYI. 2" 1/16" and 2" 1/8"
