Oil neck or paint headstock first

First build..im going to use tru oil on the neck and paint the headstock to match the body..what shall I do first oil the neck or paint the headstock, or does it matter?

Not that it needs anything adding as the answer already given by a man who really knows about finishes is correct.

But just to confirm in case you were expecting a longer thread paint the head stock first. Also let it dry thoroughly and if you are going to apply a decal and clear over it, do that next.  The oil n the rest of the neck  is the last thing to do.
