Oil Finish on a bound Body...

Can it be done?  I'm thinking black binding would be cool on a black korina body.  Oil finishes are cheap and easy.

Do you need to mask the binding?  or is there some reason that I'm not aware of that wouldn't make it work.

I haven't tried it, but it should work. Shouldn't need to mask black binding; you typically just mask to add color coats (if any), then remove the masking to shoot your top coats, were you using lacquer/poly.
