Poplar dyed like the Sun on the grass This one was finished off with Tru-oil . Killer SRV profile neck / ss frets & Point
Locking OFR circa '83 . DiMarzio 36th in the bridge & Virtual blues in the neck with Lynch mod switching
simple pull up for neck . fretsonthenet TRC & plate , and raw pickup ring . frets does killer work on his metal parts

Well done! Interesting pieces and parts, and exactly the right number of controls.

I'm more curious about that amp, though. What is that?

Thanks Fellas ! That amp is a 'wreck Rocket clone , just like a TW would be with all the right parts , iron and whatnot . I didn't build it it was built by one of the lads at the Amp Garage and the shell was built by a well known cabinet maker Larry Mann aka: distortion. It's stupid stupid loud for a "30 watt" amp  :guitarplayer2:

I also have it's mini-me a friend just finished this shell for a Firefly amp . it's 1.5 watt but still shakes the windows.

Love that dye job!  :eek:ccasion14:

I built a Firefly recently too.  I found mine way too mid heavy so I added a marshall tone stack to take care of that.  Did you find this with yours as well?

Thanks ! Cool , those are hard to find . No I don't think so it's pretty full sounding . I have noticed I like it better with different tubes . Do you have a 12AU7 in the last slot ?

I didn't build the board or chassis but mine did have the wrong switch in it that I just found and popped in and a broken on/off switch that I just replaced .

I used an ECC99 for the power tube.  It gives it a little more power output, 1.5W I think.  There was a resistor change to bias that tube properly.  That is the only difference.  Using RCA 12AX7's for the first 2 tubes

Cool little amp ! Does that have a Firefly pcb ? Did you buy that as a kit ? It looks like a Gilmore Jr.  type chassis  which are pretty solid .

Bought the PCB from somebody on Freestompboxes.  I made the chassis myself.  I used the template for the holes on the top.  You can see the top of mine is similar to yours.  I just moved the transformers over a bit.  The a push-pull pot on the gain knob.

I almost bought a Gilmore Jr, but I thought I would try this first.  I want to build a Trinity Triwatt next.

pretty damn cool...

I'm a bit late, but I really love this build. Has there been a work in progress thread? If not, what kind of stain did you use on the body? Did you use tru-oil both on the body and neck?
