Super stoked to be going to this concert tonight, three bands I love. And one of my favourite genres, Progressive Metal. It's really awesome seeing Aussie bands I like ,Karnivool and Voyager, playing with such a big band like Deftones though.

I've got my earplugs out and ready so I don't get deafened. I'll see if I can take any pictures to post!

I don't know the other two, but I've been a Deftones fan for going on 20 years. Never have had the opportunity to see them live. Enjoy!

Absolute scorcher today though. Got up to 35 Celsius with humidity around 60% just an hour or so ago. Going to be sweating a ton!

You're gonna have a blast. Nothing quite like a live major concert.

I'm with everybody, I'm sure you'll have a blast and a memory that will be with you forever.
I still remember my first concert back in 76. It was with Rainbow and no other concert has ever been able to compare to that first one. There's something magical about it.

And if you like progressive rock, I'll leave you with this and hope you tell me if you like it:

Enjoy mate. It's a nice thing to have a band you really love as your first show.

My dad took me to see the Rolling Stones when I was a little kid... as my second show. My first was when I was forced to go along with the rest of the family when my sister got Savage Garden tickets for Christmas. Doesn't make for nearly as good a story.

That's great that it's three bands you love.  All I got for my first major concert was Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine circa 1987.  Despite Gloria's repeated insistence, the rhythm did not get me that night.

My first "real" concert was Bachman-Turner Overdrive, with Bob Seger as warm-up. Had to be around '71, '72? Good ol' Cobo Hall in downtown Detroit. Saw a lotta bands there over the next 10 years or so. Back when main floor tickets to see a major band like Aerosmith or The Who would run as much as $8.50! The nerve of those guys!

I know, right?  :laughing7:

I just checked, and there's nobody terribly interesting coming to the area for the next several months, but I did see where The Red Hot Chili Peppers are coming in February and they're getting $149 each for main floor seats. WTF? That means if you wanna show your girl a good time in the middle of the worst month of the year here, you could easily drop $400 for dinner, parking, a concert and drinks afterward. How does anybody do that?

Enjoy...

I saw lots of classical stuff from very early, then the first rock type concert was Barclay James Harvest, closely followed by Blue Oyster Cult around 75.

Wow! What an awesome concert. We were in the second row for both Voyager and Karnivool so we got some awesome video and views of the bands playing. The Karnivool guitarist that is closest in the video is barefoot  :icon_scratch: It was such a cool experience seeing these bands live and with so many people at the concert, definitely makes me want to go to more concerts now! Voyager played 5 songs, Karnivool played 7, and Deftones played 18!!! Here are some videos my Dad took because my phone camera is horrible, and the actual video is a lot nicer, but had to compress it because it would've taken ages to
