Hi y'all...

Anyone using this yet? Am thinking this will be perfect for my ash guitar, but not sure which to get - oil and wax?

If anyone has ideas, please let me know.

Thanks!

I'm sanding down my ash strat body and going to have my artist kids help me woodburn a sweet soaring eagle into it. I'll start a build thread on that soon. I forgot to mention a few details I learned...

I spoke to the shop and the woman said the best way to go is start with the oil (rub in, let it sit 45 min, then buff it off) perhaps same cycle multiple times... then go with the butter on top of that using same method. I see some people online have used the wax, but that seems a little extreme.

She said sand the wood as fine (like 1000 or higher fine) as you want... and that takes the guitar to shinier stage. The oil is a no sanding type situation. This is very penetrating stuff, so that option is pretty slick! But she also said be careful and thorough with the sanding or all the little slices and grooves will pop out.

I had not heard of it before either but after following a link from the website here is an article from a luthier that uses it. He also uses Tru Oil and he has other pages on that.

This stuff looks very very interesting.  Wonder if it does better than the stuff we're currently using on our (oiled) hardwood floors...

stratamania - good find! good read from that guy, thanks!

Mayfly - their floor and table stuff (same used for all really) is particularly relished due to no toxins
