Odd SSS wiring?

Okay, I just ordered a set of Dimarzio hum cancelling strat pups.
VV 54 pros (n/m) and VV Heavy Blues (b).

Dimarzio recommends 500K pots for VV Heavy Blues. So this set
will have to be wired like HSS.  I came up with 2 different scenarios:  :sign13:

1. 1 master volume (500K), 1 tone (250K) w/ .022 cap for neck and mid, 1 tone (500K) w/ .015 cap for bridge.
or
2. 1 volume for neck and mid (250K), 1 volume (500K) for bridge, 1 master tone (250K)  w/ .022 cap

I kind of like the scenario #1.  :toothy11:
Are these possible? Are these something that's being done all the time?
If so, any pros and cons?  :help:

Thanks, guys!

1. tonal diffs between 500k and 250k are actually very small and not that easy to hear even in clean playing.
2. Go all-500k pots and try different caps till you find the one you like the best.
3. Master volume, master tone, Tone 2 = bridge "blend". Simple and useful mod gives you two more pickup positions and looks stock. http://www.acmeguitarworks.com/pdf/WiringDiagram_Strat_Blender.pdf

Higher value pots allow more treble through in the tone (250k -> 500k -> 1Meg [brightest]).

An older post of mine:

Got a humbucker and single coils in a Strat, but don't know what value pot (250K vs 500K) to use for all pickups?

Or, wish there was a way to use the proper Ohms value for each type of pickup?

===

Assuming you've got the above humbucker, single coil, single coil with standard Strat 5 way switch (i.e. not megaswitch or the like), and standard Strat 1Vol, 2Tone controls:

"Give the 'bucker its own tone control (wire the other one to the other Pups), and then wire a 470k or 560k resistor across the tone control for the single coils. Then install your 500k Volume pot.

When the single coils are on, the effective resistance at the Volume pot is around 250k....when the 'bucker is by itself, you're at 500k."

Simple and easy.

Replace "humbucker" / "bucker" with "VV Heavy Blues (b)" in the above text.

Thanks for the info, guys!

I've heard of the blender pot but not a fan of it for some reason...
I think I'll go with 1 master volume, 1 tone for bridge, 1 tone for singles.

Is there any wring diagram that shows this type of wiring with a cap on
each tone pot instead of one cap shared by 2 tone pots?

Before you do anything do yourself a favor and check out the passive mod Rothstien offers..funny coincidence but I JUST completed my strat and plugged it in last nite..I have the V V Heavy blues 2 in neck pos and the Rothstein mod as my 2nd tone---So it's Master vol, master tone and the RD500 pot..thing works AMAZING..and the wiring diagram is super simple to follow..this was my first ever build and the wiring worked out all perfect the first try..believ me I had doubts about my own wiring ability. Read it and get back to me.

Okay, gents.
I decided to go with
1 master volume, 1 tone for the bridge, 1 tone for neck and mid.

Would this diagram work? Would it get all 5 positions to work?
