Octave + Fuzz = Octave Fuzz?

So, I've been looking at fuzzes, and some of the sounds that I like are from octave fuzzes.  But I'm thinking, I already have two fuzz pedals that I like, so why not stick an octave pedal in front of my fuzz pedal? Is it the same thing? Different but better/worse?

Chances are it would be better, since each device would be designed for and dedicated to its particular task. You might even have more control that way. Plus, you could change the order - feed a fuzzed-up signal to the octave effect, or vice-versa. Finally, you already know you like your fuzzes, so there's no risk of losing that utility. But, it's all subjective. You'd have to try it to know for sure if you'd be happy with it.

Depends on what you mean.

To me "octave fuzz" means the Purple Haze freaky octave up fuzz effect. I don't know if you can get that from a typical octave pedal.
