Now THIS is very cool

sure Cagey, but I've not really had problems with my guitar going out of tune at all. I mean stability wise, sure I've had the odd one or 2 issues, but nothing major enough to make me think "god damn it, BE STABLE!! *angry face,* " and those problems were tuning peg related and not bridge related... So what is this bridge doing that a fixed bridge can't do? Does it never ever go out of tune so you never have to tune until a string change? To me it just seems like its fixing a problem that wasn't really a problem to begin with... unless I've just yet to experience it for any great length of time. I mean am I missing the point? Cause if there are a lot of people who are impressed by it then there must be something I'm not getting.   :icon_scratch:

If Earvana's nut intonates better and my guitar doesn't go out of tune enough to be a problem, then this device is $300 of useless techno-crap .   :laughing11::

Agreed... None of my tuning "Issues" are that significant. Besides it just seems like a major pain in the ass to work with, that alone is a deal breaker for me.

Geez, I didn't realize it was that expensive.  It would be a lot cooler if it was the price of a regular bridge.

There's that, too. Reminds me of the Hipshot TremSetter I had on a Fender Deluxe American Standard Strat some years back. Getting that thing adjusted was a major league pain in the ass, and wasn't terribly effective anyway. The last time I worked on it, I adjusted it to where it had no effect at all and called it a love story. Let the next guy play with it if he wants to.

As an aside, I doubt he did. The guy that came to buy that fiddle had never even seen locking tuners before. Looked at those Sperzels and said "What the hell are these?" So, I had to explain how they worked. I doubt he was ever going to take the spring cover off the back, let alone dink around with some unfamiliar Rube Goldberg mechanical device.

They talk quite a bit about tuning issues during recording sessions, having to re-tune to play different chords and such. I've done my share of studio work, and I don't think I've ever had a situation where anything was that bad. I suppose that could mean both me and the people I've recorded with have tin ears.

What if you took this bridge and put in on a guitar with a True Temperament neck, and fretted it with those Crystal frets? Would the universe collapse in on itself? I need to know, 'cause I don't wanna hurt anyone if I decide to do this.

The one at the NAMM show had a True Temperament neck actually!!!

Well, if that happens, just put some instant rice in the microwave. It makes time go backwards. You'll be able to rectify your mistake.

Yeah, but how do you get the microwave up to 88mph?

Pretty scary to think the Crystal Frets guy is only an EverTune away from ruining our space-time continuum.

This bridge, Robot guitar tuners, Floyd Rose, EverTune Frets, True Temperment, KillerGuitarComponents Brass Block, Callaham saddles, Earvana and Buzz Feiten, Locking tuners and locking nut, Earvana floyd nut made of Black tusq, Moses Graphite neck made of wenge, warmoth chambered body, Graphite string trees and no string trees at all, all on a Gibson Firebird X. :headbang1: :binkybaby:

Clearly, you don't understand the science behind this. See, it's instant rice. Not one minute rice, or 20 minute rice, or interminable brown rice. I'm talkin' instant, like the speed your significant other discovers you've broken some unwritten household/relationship rule you didn't know about. So, if it takes no time to cook, and microwave ovens speed up cooking, obviously there's no place for time to go but inside out, or as scientists put it: backwards. Ipso facto, and caveat emptor. And like that. You don't need plutonium, a flux capacitor or irresponsible driving habits. All you need is an $80 consumer-grade magnetron and a grocery store.

I think it's pretty obvious what's going on here.  As a lad I spent more than a few hours in the company of musicians who enjoyed the green.  Similar concepts were whittled into shape by all and sundry.  Myself, I've never partaken - but I have certainly borne witness to the convoluted spiral of doobie-reasoning.  Well done, Cagey!

I think he just needs to learn to spin fast enough for the tuners to go supersonic and open up the dynamic range of the translucent reaction caused by the magnetic flux in the coils of the axe he is using
