Not Exactly Just Out of the Box BengalBurst LP

This guitar started out as a quest last Christmas.
I got a 2008 Les Paul Standard for Christmas, and I really liked it, but I wanted something a little different. Not just something everybody else had, but also something that had not been hanging around being played/abused by everybody that walked in the store.
I took it back to GC, and after trading for a couple other guitars (they actually got upset I was utilizing their 30 day return policy so much) decided to go the Warmoth route.
I fell in love with the BengalBurst showcase body and ordered the neck the end of January, along with the other parts.
Then I waited....and waited....and waited.
Finally...I got my neck. Exactly as I had imagined....except for the color.
It was supposedly the same color as the body back, which I was told is Transparent Amber, but it is obviously not close. (notice this if you order a body neck and want them the same) This is not just because of two different pieces of wood.
Fortunately my wife made me pause and realize that the two colors are both very nice and are complimentary of each other. It actually looks better than if they were very close but not a perfect match and I have actually grown to like the look.
I wired her up and have exactly what I wanted, a totally unique LP that I picked out, assembled, set up and play.

By the way, thanks for all the answers to my questions and help along the way.

nice guitar! I think the difference in color is really due to the fact that no 2 pieces are the same, and that it might've been hard to match the color of the neck with the body. thats why I always take no finish, and ask for a neckwood that needs no finish to begin with  :occasion14:

but still, that top is killer! she looks great :)

Sweet LP, love that top.... :icon_thumright:  And FWIW mahogany is very difficult if not almost impossible to match, unless cut from the same piece of lumber. I have a mahogany neck that is two different colors. So matching a neck to a body is very rare...

That top is one of the most beautifully figured I have seen.  That is one sweeeeet cat!  :headbang1: :headbang1: :headbang1:
I think the neck and back look fine.  I am not a fan of everything the same color and those go well together.
Good decision to make the return and go for the Bengal! :hello2:
:kewlpics: :rock-on:
