That's utterly ridiculous.
+1

This whole thing is getting out of hand. Gibson was DEFENDING THEIR PATENTS. They were not bullying Warmoth into unfair submission. And this whole "Well-uh, Warmoth is best, uhhh" :cool01: thing is STUPID. A guitar is a TOOL. Just that. I've played many Gibsons that I loved and were reasonably priced. Hell, I played a $1000 midtown P90 recently and that was a good guitar. Yep, I said it. And another thing - It was worth $1000.

Sure the Big turtle can give you the parts to make a tasty sounding dohickey thingamabomber; but there's no guarantee that it will turn out good, and the risk is HUGE.If you screw it up, that's it.

:sign13: So for the MILLIONS of guitarists who can't even change their own strings!?, perhaps a Gibson is good enough. A guitar is a tool, and it's worth NOTHING if you don't do anything with it. People spend TOO MUCH time FRETTING :laughing7: over whether they have the right strings or if their frigging tuners are ruining their TONE VIBE THINGS. If you don't like the tone you have, Look to yourself. I could have all of Dave frickin' Wronski's gear, I still won't sound like him.  :sad1:

You all talk about how much you hate Gibson, how Gibson sucks, their product sucks, their finishing sucks, their qc sucks, and then you go and make a bunch of Gibson COPIES. To top it all off, you whine and complain about how Gibsons a big bad bully and how unfair it is that they DEFENDED THEIR PATENTS. If you don't defend them, you lose them, simple as that.

MULLY
Nah, I'm just training to be the stubhead of tomorrow. :laughing7:

Doncha just love how throwing the word respect into something makes everything cool?

The thing is there is clear case law that says (fender lawsuit actually) that a 2D outline does not imply origin. And its not like its been going on for like what 60 years? The horse is not only out of the barn, but it has sired two+ generations of offspring across the countryside.

:icon_scratch:  looks like someone got their primary school 'kiddies colouring in book' mixed up with this forum.

Think I saw Wyliee said he was gunna use Chrome on this LP ....... nice choice  :icon_thumright:

Any hint on the neck ?  ..... sorry if I missed that.

Don't overlook your photo stash... :laughing7:

But I think you're getting the hang of it, just aim the hose and let fly. There's other plenty other peeps to handle the "polite" & "respect" parts. CAFFEINE...

MORE CAFFEINE..... :cool01:

The neck just went home with me.  This is my LP-ish response to the headstock issue.  Distinct from G* and any forthcoming Warmoth headstock shapes.

Mahogany shaft, rosewood board, 59 roundback contour, ivroid binding, SS6230 frets.

Time to start the assembly process.

You know it just occured to me today... Whats so unfair about W employees building guitars is not getting pick of the litter, or any employee discounts etc (I've never seen one at any company that was enough to feel cheated as an outsider.)

No, whats unfair is the he gets to know where it is, how its coming, and know that it's safely in the trunk of his car. You really need to put this thing in a box, wait 6 weeks +/- 2 weeks, let someone else decide when its ready, then give the box to Fed-Ex or Ex-Con, then sweat it out while it goes on a scenic tour of the country being tossed around like a football, jousted at by forklift operators, and then left on the porch for anyone curious at what the box's resale value might be on the street to see.

On the contrary.... I get to stare at it every day as it sits on a shelf and waits for its turn.  Every.Long.Damn.Day.

Then it disappears for a day and comes back and sits again.... and again...

But actually, after waiting several weeks until you get to the period where it's about time and then, suddenly, UPS's Quantum View appears in your inbox bringing untold excitement.  :blob7:

And he also doesn't get to play "woodgrain poker" like I did when I custom ordered a GA neck. Since GA varies so much, I debated asking if I could get "something like in this picture", but decided to just roll the dice and see what comes up. I won. :hello2:

Hannah, you can hold your breath until you turn blue waiting for the secret Warmoths! And the bonus fashion statement - you'll match your guitar....

So when do we get to see pics of this beast assembled?  :toothy10:

Sorry, I've had very little time to work on any of my axes.  I'll try to lay the parts out and get a shot this weekend.
