A mahogany scrap, a dowel, a drill press, a laminate router, some stain, and a little spray lacquer (nitro, of course), and my slides have a home.
The larger of the green bottlenecks is something I actually found on the beach while hiking one of Hong Kong's outlying islands. I managed to break it carefully and use a sanding belt to smooth the bottom edge. It doesn't work very well since the glass is pitted, but it's the most 'authentic' one of the bunch, given it's 'found' nature.
And no, I have no reason or excuse for having 9 slides.
