New Neck Day was actually several days ago, but this is the first chance I had to post.

Jazzmaster neck, 25.5" Scale, Pao Ferro on Flame Maple, Clapton Profile, Compound Radius, Traditional 21 fret length w/ SS6105 frets, and MOP Dots. I'm very happy with Warmoth's choice of woods, nice Flame and nice grain on the finger board.

To celebrate I pulled the trigger on a machine gun. Meaning I ordered ALL of the rest of the parts for the build. The neck arrived in just 3 weeks from the day I placed the order. I'm sorta hoping that this is still Warmoth's slow season so I don't have to wait 10 weeks for the body. But it is what it is.

Pics attached, hope you like 'em. It's a little difficult to get the true effect of the Flame while still in  the "White", but you get the idea.

So, this is gonna go on a Jazzmaster?

Yeah, Kevin. Gonna look something like this:

Except I decided on Black Korina instead of the Mahogany for the core wood, and Doug has the final design for the Hard Tail Plate.

I'm just about done with cad work for your design.... :headbang:

Looking forward to that. I got a little busy yesterday, but the plate went out today. Don't forget to send me an invoice so I can pay ya!

Excellent! Nice combination of... everything! And wise choice on the tailpiece. I really like those as a solution to the vintage vibrato tailpiece hole Warmoth seems bound and determined to gouge out of every Jaguar/Jazzmaster body they make.

Nice mock-up. That will be a fine-looking guitar. I also like the hardtail plate.

That's an awesome Jazzmaster. Now, that's the way they're supposed to look like!

I was going to get in contact with Warmoth to ask them if it's possible to get a Jaguar without bridge/trem cavity rout, but you're saying it isn't?

Oh, they'll do it. I have two Jazzmasters here that don't have that rout - one was routed for a Wilkinson and the other a AmStd Fender. They just very rarely have them in the showcase with anything but the original routing so you generally have to custom order them.

Looks lovely. Love that neck. What is the knob for on the lower horn?

Yep, that's a knob in the lower horn. I've been working on the wiring for quite a while, trying to get as much as can out of the P-Rails WITHOUT using those SD switched pup rings or a bunch of switches in general. My solution, which will more than cover my needs, is a Rotary Switch. An Electroswitch, C4D0604N-A, 6 pole, 4 position, rotary switch to be more precise. With it, a single knob will give me access to all 4 possible pickup modes: P-90, Strat type Rail, Series and Parallel Hucbuckers. My only concern is that I couldn't get a Make-Before-Break version, but we'll see how that goes when I get it wired.

Yeah, I actually ordered the body WITH  the Jazzmaster/Jaguar trem rout. My intention is to visually resemble a traditional JM, but not have the problems. Besides, If I ever go insane and decide I WANT  a JM trem, I won't have far to go!

Looks like a nice piece of flame, how do you plan to finish it ?

My plan for the neck is Minwax Satin Lacquer, same as I used on me Strat. The back glossed up with use, but it still feels slick and fast. It will also get a headstock decal I had Rothko & Frost fab for me . They made EXACTLY what I sent them, and did a GREAT job on the execution.

(Sorry it tool so long to answer. I couldn't get anything to post yesterday.)
