nitro preservation...

I will be taking possession of an older Gibson LP Jr Double cut.  The finish is a faded heritage cherry.  Its about 10 years old and show signs of wear which I am OK with.  Any suggestions on cleaning the nitro and keeping everything good and protected.  I DO NOT want to refinish...simply preserve.

Also, what does everyone use to clean and polish frets?
