Got this little gem to do some work on.... :icon_biggrin:

All I know is it's a National, serial number dates to 1953.... :blob7:

What are your plans?
Well I just found out what it is...It's a Supro Ozark circa 1953, appears to be kinda rare.

But first plans are to take apart and clean, then replace the jack. The spot where it is mounted has broken, and I need to make it a bit sturdier...

Wow, that is a cool little box ya' found there Doug.
Where did ya come across that thang'?
I am anxious to see what ya do with her.  Keep posting those pics...

Belongs to a friend of mine, he wants me to fix 'er up. May try to talk him out of it, it has a cool sound to it, does real well with a slide too.... :icon_biggrin:

Oh man! nice find. Don't do too much to it - just replace the bad electric bits and keep the originals. I wouldn't even clean it up too much unless it smells like cat pee. I would love to snag something like that for a slide session.

I saw something similar to that on "Pawn Stars" on the History Channel. They had a '42 Gibson archtop that cleaned up really well with a wetsanding and a refret. It didn't look brand new, of course, but it did look cleaned up, and cleand up really well. To me, the thing just screams Delta Blues all day long.

This is what one in good shape looks like, 'cept the one I have in my possession says National on the headstock....

I'm not really doing to much, but as you say, cleaning bad pots and fixing the jack, cleaning off the dust and change strings.... :icon_biggrin:

It needs a floyd  :laughing7:

Beat me to it!  :icon_biggrin:

Seriously, tho, if you go anywhere near that oldie without first checking it's worth untouched, you need to be committed. "Doug, gently put down that router and step aside"

Solid, you say?  Lap slide guitar?
