Nice finish for Canary top?

First post to the forum.  I've been gassing over the sale like most everyone else and, my will being weak, I've now purchased 2 necks and 3 bodies!  :help:  Now I think I'm going to get one more body with a Canary lam top.  Do any of you have any suggestions on what would be a nice finish to bring out the awesome canary grain/ hues but add some color?  Please note that I absolutely do not like plain, clear gloss or tobacco/brown.  But I LOVE orange, amber, or even blue finishes... a burst would be nice... I would appreciate any suggestions as there are no pics of such a thing on the Warmoth site.  Thanks!

I'm not sure if warmoth offer it, but an amber or butterscotch burst would nice. Although, even though you mightn't like it, I think simple vintage tint gloss would look great on canary.

I would go with the honey burst or the green burst.

I vote for a subtle brown burst.  Here's why:

I picked up this body from the Showcase back in 2007, and it's beautiful.  I wasn't a fan of brown burst either, but it just looked awesome with the Canary top.

Otherwise, I would recommend honey, orange, amber, or some other color that works with the natural color variations in the wood.  Blue probably wouldn't look as good.

i second the subtle brown burst. i don't think the normal brown burst really is that subtle, but you might be able to get them to do something similar (especially since they already made one). that finish looks amazing!

Subtle brown burst and showcase almost sounds like a no go if they want to call that a custom paint color.  There have been many a showcase finishes non-reproduceable for scratch builds.  I'm just saying.

Noob to the forum and also first post but have to say amber with black cherry burst. Only seen one like it before and no pics available but my jaw nearly hit the floor.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys.  The suggestion of Black Cherry to Amber burst sounds VERY cool... I like the flashy stuff... too bad there isn't a pic.
Sent email to Warmoth with same question 3 days ago - guess those guys can't keep up with all the inquiries - so what's the point of a sale if you don't want to try and sell items?  :dontknow: but, I digress...  May just scrap the Canary idea and go with a highly figured black korina later...  But, again, thanks for the help!

Thanks for the suggestions, guys.  I went for it, after all.  Just couldn't resist such a unique Firebird body.  Much to the presumed chagrin of you traditionalists, I went with the Tequila Sunrise Burst, clear mask binding, candy tangerine back.  Even ordered a Canary neck to compliment it.  Last Warmoth project was 4-5 years ago... fell off the wagon and went on a bender, ended up with 3 necks and 4 bodies (two FB, two strats).  Moderation is overrated.  :laughing7:  I'll probably post some pics once it all arrives... gonna be a long wait!
