NGD - Meadowhawk 2026-10 “Petaltail”

But wait! the control cavity is behind the quilt maple top...why would it need to be shallower???
Because the thickness of the holes for the controls needs to be taken into account. If for example the top at that point is a few mm thinner and the thickness of the top of the rout is only a few mm thick it stands to reason if the body thickness is less at that point the rout must also be by the corresponding amount.

If you can skim the top WITHOUT cutting thru to the cavity; if you then still have a good mm or so of wood there you could carefully glue in a piece ON THE INSIDE to get sufficient thickness for the pot shafts. (and I would add a little epoxy fillet for reinforcement around the edges!)
But then you might be thwarted by insufficient cavity depth if using pull pots or a tall switch in the cavity... Measurements of all the parts (including thickness of control cavity cover) should confirm or deny feasibility!

Or you could buy one of the five remaining Meadowhawks (I would strongly suggest it)
