Going to pick up a DiMarzio Tone Zone F Spaced HB to replace the SD Full Shred (which I'll sell) and a "Hoockey" 32mm Big Brass Block for the "Gibson" Schaller Floyd and call it good.  :headbang:

Looks like that could be a Poplar body. Must not be the original finish since the 3-pc body isn't the best grain match along the joints. Really cool guitar though, definitely worth the $400.  :icon_thumright:

Reminds me of a Rickenbacker, and I hate Rickenbacker's....It does have a Floyd tho... :dontknow:

She's Poplar and it's the factory finish. If you "Google" M-III you'll see quite a few of the "Translucent Amber" Finished ones show up.

If that's a factory finish the aesthetics of that guitar are poor.

Good luck on your bargain find! :icon_thumright:

Indeed factory and in good condition. Rest assured, it will be enjoyed! :)

"Aesthetics" (also spelled æsthetics or esthetics) is a branch of philosophy dealing with the nature of beauty, art, and taste, and with the creation and appreciation of beauty.[1] It is more scientifically defined as the study of sensory or sensori-emotional values, sometimes called judgments of sentiment and taste.[2] More broadly, scholars in the field define aesthetics as "critical reflection on art, culture and nature."[3][4] Aesthetics is a subdiscipline of axiology, a branch of philosophy, and is closely associated with the philosophy of art.[5] Aesthetics studies new ways of seeing and of perceiving the world.

Poplar (Liriodendron tulipifera):

This is another standard body wood having been used by many companies over the years. Due to the grey/green color, this wood is used mostly when solid color finishes are to be applied. Its weight generally runs about one half pound more than Alder. Tonally, it is similar to Alder as well. Poplar is a closed grain wood that accepts finish well.

I think it looks super nice..... Other than the inlays haha. I don't see what's so bad about it... It'd feel super lucky to have that thing!
