Newbie Question - Tone Control

I typically wire my strats for one vol/one tone, which I hardly use. That first control gets in my way as placed, something I never liked about the Strat.

For a one-humbucker guitar, a single volume is all you really need. Easy to wire and works just fine.

in case you didn't know, warmoth makes pickguards that lower the 1st knob. its called the "D-long" option when you configure the guard.

hey... im one of those guys! lol i would much rather have two volume than two tone. is there any way i can do that? like one tone controls both pickups tone and i have two separate volume knobs?

That's how Explorers and Flying Vs are wired.  That how I wired my Strat and J-Bass as well.
