hi guys. in the end i decided to save some money and paint the body myself.
actually, my uncle is gonna help me. he has experience painting furnitures and all the tools.

do i need special paint and sealer for a guitar? or standard nitro is all i need?

i know this:
i sand the body, the apply a few hands (how many?) of some sort of oil, then lots of layers of nitro paint.
then some sort of sealer.

is everything correct?
- what kind of oil/primer i need for alder?
-- what kind of paint i need?
--- what kind of sealer ?

i'm based in EU (italy) so paint brands are different. i'm looking for composition / type advices.

is painting a neck so hard compared to a body?
i was thinking about paint the neck myself too, and stink some decals.

thanks guys for your infinite patience with me these days, i'm slowly learning

Basically, sand the body with 220 grit paper-dry. Seal, prime, paint, then clear, wet sand and buff in that order. I recommend using automotive urethane throughout so you can assemble and play in a week. Nitrocellulose lacquer takes a few months or more to cure before you can play it without scratching it up...
