New Warmoth website feedback from old timers seen negative.

Ooh, this is fun.  I love the new site's search function!

I'm not sure if these are the optimal search terms, but I had wanted a way to see all in-stock Strat (or Tele) bodies at once, including hybrids:

https://warmoth.com/catalogsearch/result/?cat=0&q=strat+replacement+body
https://warmoth.com/catalogsearch/result/?cat=0&q=tele+replacement+body

It's also noticeably faster to browse from page to page (compared to the category pages like https://warmoth.com/guitar-bodies/stratocaster), though it doesn't include the fine-tuning options.

Thanks much for the insights!

I've watched this debate roll on now over on Facebook and on here, and from what I can see is people are losing their minds over small omissions brought with the massive improvements with the new site.

I've now ordered two Warmoth guitars, one with the new website, and one with the old. The new website was a FAR more streamlined and personalised experience. The neck visual builder was an incredible help!
I love the information that comes up on the left hand side guiding you through each step. It's perfect for new builders.

A few items I've seen that many people wish were in the new site are below. These may be implemented in future, or just don't need to be there anymore;
-A more broad showcase viewer so we can see anything and everything in the showcase. It sells parts to GAS sufferers!
-Reverse view and hardware option integration. I can understand why this has been removed. We now have 6x more visual builders than we ever have had before, it's so much better for everyone. You can use photoshop or similar if you're that bothered about making a mock-up.
-The gallery photos. Someone explained that it was hard to keep on top of, as people would submit varying sizes, qualities of photos. Also there's the fact that Warmoth are in a strange place with copyright and can't account for everything going on there all the time.
-RSS feed - I've never used this but people who did seemed to love it, I think they're working on a solution to integrate this

In all, the new Website looks incredible, feels more comfortable and intuitive to use, and I truly believe the hate over on Facebook is totally unfounded. I understand the old guard loved the old website, and new things are hard to get used to when you've visited the same website for 20 years, but I visited the old website on Wayback Machine the other day and almost puked.

Live and let live folks

Awesome!  These just keep getting better.  I love how you've narrowed the search term to the category slug (ps-1, s-11, pt-8, t-7).

If you're looking for something specific, the new website is great.  If you're just browsing showcase inventory, it's very very tedious clicking through each model which may or may not even have anything available.  Unlike the old site where you just click on the tree branch and there it is.

I liked the broader browsing capability that was possible before, too.

"How do we begin to covet, agent Starling?  We begin by coveting what we see every day.'' - Hannibal Lector

Fully half or better of my purchases from Warmoth were pure covetiousness.  I can't imagine how many things I would have missed out on or ideas that didn't even get a chance to get aborted if I or someone else hadn't run across a "can't live without"  part by accident :laughing7:  Some of my stuff I'd have never looked for on purpose.

Maybe we could do a self moderated gallery here, with a few simple rules, like:
1) Just one picture and post of the front of the guitar
2) Maximum 50 word description
3) The Body and/or Neck must be Warmoth
4) All body styles go into the same single photo gallery
5) Posters acknowledge by posting that if they violate any of the first three rules, in addition to our normal rules, their post could be subject to removal by the moderators at the request of any member.

It could be started in the Off Topic area and if it's successful, moved over to its own category in the Gallery, maybe calling it the single photo gallery.  If members want to post more elaborate descriptions then they would use the specific galleries for the body types.  But this would give people a quick look, which is what most people want.

If it's not successful, it can be allowed to die a quiet internet death.

Anyone think this a good idea, just say aye, and I'll post the first pic.

We already have that.  Main page, just below the discussion categories.

Well, the link to the old gallery is dead, and the way, the strat postings are organized, makes everyone have to post a new post of their guitar; I was thinking more of scrolling experience with just one pic.

As before, if just one person here says, sure Rick2, post something in the Off Topic Section, call it the Single Photo Gallery, and if it works, say we get 20 or more photos, then we might have something, if nothing happens, it dies.
