Hi guys. This is my first post.

I received all the parts for my new Warmoth build today but there is something that is a little concerning. So I wanted to bounce this off you guys to see what you think.

I ordered an instock neck and had choose a specific one due to the fact that it had all of the specs I wanted and it had an option for the installation of an R2 locking nut. Upon receiving it I noticed that there is some overhang on the self. Do any of you see any problems with this from a performance/tuning point of view?

That does not look right to me, I would contact Warmoth Sales about it.

There are sometimes official Warmoth staff on the forum, but it will be quicker if you contact them directly.

comment...that does not look right.

Second comment...is that an REAL floyd locking nut of a knock off?  If it is real...call Warmoth.  If it is fake, get a real one and see how it fits.

All of the parts came from Warmoth.

I was speaking with Brian at Warmoth and he explained why there is overhang and assured me there shouldn't be any issues.

Hey guys, here's the sitch: when you have a neck custom built, and you spec a Floyd nut at the beginning of the process, we are able to leave the nut shelf extra long to accommodate it. When you choose a neck from the showcase that has already been completed, and spec the Floyd nut shelf after the fact, there isn't enough wood there for the entire shelf. The Floyd nut is going to overhang just a bit. This is the way it's been since Warmoth started offering Floyd nuts.

Functionally, it is completely, 100% sound. The Floyd nut on one of my main guitars is exactly like the one pictured here, and I have been performing with it for years now. It's the one in my avatar pic to the left.

My old Z that got stolen was like this too.

The green VIP that I assembled with the Gotoh 510 had a prepped shelf like this that later had a tusq nut put in, and it performed fine.

Double A can confirm this as it was a shop guitar, that is, if it's still there.  This was 7.5 years ago.

good to know.  All my floyd shelfs I pre-ordered which explains why I never saw this.
