New "Warhead" bass headstock design for 3+1 tuners

We already have the option to put 4+1 tuners on the Deluxe 5-string necks, but there's no corresponding 3+1 headstock for a 4-string neck.

Basically, I'd like to see something similar to a MusicMan 4-string bass headstock, with 3 tuners on one side and 1 tuner on the other.  This could work for both standard (straight) and angled headstocks.

Ideally there would be enough space for the vintage-style Schaller tuning machines; having the option of the newer Gotoh GB7s would be nice as well.

This should available for both right-handed and left-handed necks; adding right-hand reverse headstocks would be nice to have.

i'd definitely think that would be cool. and along with that i'd like to see the warhead headstock design be a standard for regular scale guitar AND bass. as far as i know it's still a $45 upcharge unless it's on a 3/4 scale body.

Has there been a 4+1 Warhead, or are you talking about the 4+1 Fender shape?

As I recall, Ernie Ball has the 3+1 design trademarked and they are pretty agressive in defending it.  No need to tempt a lawsuit.

I would like to see a 3+1 warhead!!
I was wondering if either:
$45 would pay for the custom headshape? They require a full scale drawing to work off. Anyone here got one already?
Or if I ordered a warhead neck with no holes and reshaped it?
Or can you order a 32" bland headstock neck and shape it yourself?

Which custom headstock shape you're thinking? Is more like you drawing it than anything, because It's probably to get a "NO" sending a already existing headstock... As Eric said, you just can't make every design you want, some have the design under trade marks

You can reshape any headstock, but it doesn't mean it will work... Just what you loose the warranties...

The 32" blank I've no idea, might be answered by Mr Eric

IIRC, they trademarked calling it a 3+1 headstock.
