Hi All,

Do the in-stock necks come with frets and nuts installed? It looks like I have options to pick fret wire, nut, and tuner ream. I didn't know if nut and frets come installed

Thanks,

Watermelon

The bodies are drilled for the neck mounting screws, AND specified bridge.  For "rear control mounted" bodies, one can specify controls (pots and selector switch) etc.  Regarding the pick guard screw holes and trem spring cover plate screw holes - no.

The only drilling they will do is neck mounting holes on necks and bodies, tuner reams on necks, and bridge mounting holes on bodies.

ok thanks.

found smbstressfest on youtube doing a warmoth build. he did some good stuff on there. got many many how-to tips.

time to decide on option/finishes.

may take a while. so many options.

Wow talk about a topic change mid stream - Squirrel!  Please note, the necks do not come with a nut unless you order one.

To clarify: frets are included in the price of the neck. When you browse the "In-Stock Showcase" you will see many with frets already installed, and many without. For those without you can specify the kind of frets you want and Warmoth will install them before shipping.

Nuts are available as an option for a few extra dollars. They are not standard. If you choose to add a nut to a Showcase neck you can specify the material and type, and Warmoth will install it for you before shipping. When you see a showcase necks with a nut already installed the "buy now" price has been adjusted to include it.

Also in the interest of clarity, it should be noted that the nut slot heights are not set to optimal, the frets are not levelled, crowned, dressed or polished, and the truss rod is not adjusted. Those are all items that are part of setup, and can't be accurately predicted.

The frets are priced into the neck unless you get stainless steel or gold ones, but the adder for those is so small it's somewhat foolish to pass on them. Stainless frets feel so much better to play on and last so much longer, they should be standard. No change in tone, regardless of what the pundits say. They will, however, add to setup cost with some techs when doing the above-mentioned setup. Mainly because they buy crap for tools. Guys like me don't care. I do almost nothing but stainless/gold.

I think the OP was asking originally if bodies were predrilled for pickguard screws. That was answered, then the question was edited to frets and nuts. So a mid stream thread change but no idea what squirrels have to do with it.

WHAT?

The subject and opening thread yesterday was something like "Do Warmoth bodies come pre drilled for pickguards / covers", then today it has all been edited to necks / frets etc...  180 degrees out...

Squirrel, was a reference to the movie "UP", where the attention span / subject would change quickly....
