Hi fellow Warmoth-people.
So it happend, I found an excuse to build me a second Warmoth-strat...
I used the neck of a 1979 us strat for an other project, and wanted to put the rest of the guitar - except the boatanker body with awfull amateurish refinish - to good use. So i had a bunch of hardware, pickups and electronics from a 79' strat... If that isnt a good excuse for building a Warmoth I don't know what is...
So i ordered body, screeningfoil, strap-pins and neck+tuners and stringtrees... The the rest i took from the old strat.
When i had put it together i wasn't satisfied with the white pickupcovers and black knobs I had mounted it with. That was the original idea for the design, but it just didn't give me visual satisfaction...
It stood clear to me, that chrome was the way to go... So i ordered three chrome-covers and some black chrome knobs with abalone inlays. The neck has greenbluish abalone-inlays, so i thought it would go well together...
So... A few pics from the process, and some of the final result of course too
Yay... Items arive... All of you must know the feeling of pure happiness from recieving a shipment from warmoth
Getting ready to build.
Screening done.
Tuners and trees done.
All parts put together... But had to wait with strings, as i realised white/black plastic wasn't gonna work.
Ordered chrome!!!
Beautiful birdseye maple neck.
And the complete guitar:
And my two Warmoths together...
And the dog on the couch. Obviously loathing me and the camera for interrupting her chewing in a bone.
Very happy with the guitar. The chrome covers worked very well. And the knobs too... Not much classic strat over this guitar. But whats the point in building a fenderclone
Here is the rest of the electric family. Its my first mapleneck... But i dont think, that will be a problem at all!
