New neck but slightly different from original order

Hey guys,

My CBS headstock maple neck arrived today it looks and feels fantastic. I ordered it during the sale and requested the nut to be prepared for an R4 Floyd Rose nut - the shelf only.

When I've pulled the neck out of the box the first thing I've noticed is the mounting holes. Now I've checked my order on the website and it does say R4 - shelf only.

What would you guys do?

On one hand, I've been waiting for this neck for weeks and two little holes at the back of the neck won't affect the sound, aesthetics or playability but on the other hand, it's not what I ordered and I think I paid enough money to get the little details right...

I Wish I could show photos of how cool the neck is but I'm at work and don't have any type of camera here.
 
If it's different from your order, you may contact Warmoth sales representants or Mr Rob Rounds, manager os sales of Warmoth and they'll find out a solution... if nothing works you'll be able to return the neck, after they send you a authorization (never heard a problem about it here on forum with products that were different from the order)

i'm guessing warmoth is either swamped with work and slipping on QC or they need a new cnc guy.

Waiting weeks to finally get your neck and they had it wrong with the lock nut screw holes.  So sad  :sad1:
 
I don't see that it's really that big a deal, most Floyd nuts can mount wither way..... :dontknow:

I THOUGHT I ordered a BLACK tusq nut, but they have attached a WHITE one!
O NO!!!
On the order it does say...WHITE. BOOOOO!
I ordered it 'wrong' no fault of theirs and really no big deal.

On yours I would make sure the order is correct, which it sounds like you have.
Since the item differs from what the order says, I'd call them and get working on a return.

i did the EXACT same thing. i was really surprised when i opened the box, but i was so torn between the black tusq and white tusq that i guess my sub-conscience made a decision for me while i was placing my order  :icon_biggrin:  my neck still looks great though!

anyway thats pretty disappointing. i personally wouldn't have a problem with it, but if you're thinking twice about it i'd say send it back for sure. no reason to be unhappy with your custom guitar, right? any way to get pictures yet? i'd love to see this thing!
 
Look, if the neck's that amazing chances are you won't get another one quite like it. I wouldn't risk your epic neck (which doesn't exist without pictures) over two holes.  :dontknow:
 
Frankly, I've always found the through-neck Floyd nuts to hold tune better and be more stable than the top-mounted ones. It seems like the screws on the top-mount are too small to hold the nut adequately. So if it were me, I'd be glad.

But I'm not you, and if you don't like it, you should return it.

Every person has an image in their mind of how their guitar will look...Then they place an order.

Speaking for myself, if the guitar doesnt look like I want it to look it would bother me. After all, thats why
we place orders with Warmoth. To get a unique look that is designed by US! (more or less)

If its not what you ordered send it back.....dont wait too long.
