New  Mesa Express 5:25 showing up today from Sweetwater (Love them).  My wife is unexcited so I just had to tell people who could be excited with me.  Keeping the Peavey Delta Blues but stoked to play the Mesa.  :party07:

Good for you! Gotta love a Mesa. I've not played that model, but have heard nothing but high praise for it.

The 5:25 is a fire-breathing beastie.  Congratulations.  Your wife must be a bass-player or something.

Mesa amps, Mmmmmmmm!

That's two thumbs up, and I never use emoticons. (Opps, almost never.)

Initial impression....the overdriven sounds are awesome but I expected that. The crunchy and gainy semi cleans are surprising though. Super cool single coil cleans that are fat and jangly or crunchy and detailed. I'm very pleased so far. Many of my pedals just became window dressing.  This thing is beyond versatile and the EQ section, changeable wattage settings, and the four modes make this crazy fun. The pedal has channel switching but also a nice reverb, EQ, and solo button. Nice touch.

That sure is nice! I've been eying the lonestars for some time now. Those expresses though sure catch my eye as well. Thanks for the little review.

I had a DC-20 back in the day.  Super-versatile, and great tone.  They were much cheaper back then, but as far as what you pay for, you're still getting a good deal.  It should hold it's value pretty well if you should happen to sell it, too.  I've had my eyes out for a Blue Angel....one of these days.....

Since I'm not an "earning" player, I definitely had second thoughts about the price tag.  My justification, right or wrong, went something like this:
"Well, If I sell the pedals I no longer need, the net cost isn't that much.  Besides, its kind of unfair to my amazing guitars to not have an amazing amp…"  Some of it is true.  The only pedals I'm keeping are my Velvet Fuzz and a delay.  After a couple days, I'm even more amazed at this amp.  Very highly recommended.

High end gear really belongs to hobbiests with day jobs. When your gear has to earn its keep, its a lot easier to justify working mans gear. Will the Mesa earn you earn you 3x the money? Nope. Enjoy your toy. Stuff bought out of the toy budget is free from such guilt or performance anxiety

Dam right!  I earned it.  This is much better than my former naked motorcycling hobby anyway.
